The Montgomery School Program for Environmental Awareness and Sustainability (PEAS), in partnership with Natural Lands Trust and Yellow Springs Farm Native Plant Nursery, invites you to participate in a Stewardship Workshop on Invasive Plants: Identification & Management on Saturday, November 14 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. The workshop will take place at Montgomery School in Chester Springs, PA.

  • Learn how to identify invasive plant species on your property
  • Learn how to incorporate more native plants into the landscape around your home
  • Gain hands-on experience managing and removing invasive plants from your property
  • Discover how proper stewardship of your land can improve wildlife habitats and beautify your property
  • FOR TEACHERS: Learn how you can apply this information to your classroom to meet the standards for Environment & Ecology and earn ACT 48 credit.

DETAILS:

  • Cost: There is no charge for this workshop although, contributions to Montgomery School for their Environmental Program's Nature Trail Development project will be graciously accepted.
  • What to bring: Work gloves (we have some also), loppers, and hand pruners if you have them.
  • What to wear: Part of this workshop will be held outside, so please come dressed appropriately for mid-November weather. Long sleeve pants and shirts are recommended.
  • Light refreshments will be served.
  • Children are welcome to participate with adult supervision.
